Day 15 is Saturday and my second full week of Dry July.
Matariki isn't supposed to be a time to get on the beers, but for many Saturday would be, maybe while watching the All Blacks take on the Springboks.
So, to get in the mood, here's a list of the short-term affects you can expect from alcohol. Some people might think of this as a sign of a good night. Wait until tomorrow's post before you decide!

The short term effects of alcohol.
Alcohol acts as a depressant on the central nervous system, slowing down brain activity and impairing cognitive and motor functions.
Impaired judgment and decision-making: Alcohol can lower inhibitions, impair reasoning abilities, and lead to poor decision-making.
Loss of coordination and balance: Alcohol affects motor skills, resulting in unsteady movements and impaired coordination.
Slurred speech: Alcohol affects the muscles used for speech, causing slurred or unclear speech.
Memory impairment: Excessive alcohol consumption can lead to blackouts or gaps in memory.
Nausea and vomiting: Alcohol irritates the stomach lining, leading to nausea and potentially vomiting.
Dehydration: Alcohol is a diuretic, increasing urine production and promoting fluid loss from the body, which can lead to dehydration.
Fluctuating emotions: Alcohol can intensify emotions and may lead to mood swings or emotional instability.
Increased heart rate: Alcohol consumption can cause a temporary increase in heart rate.
Blood vessel dilation: Alcohol causes blood vessels to expand, resulting in flushed skin and a feeling of warmth.
