We planned an early start for our two day excursion to St Moritz and Lombardy. We headed off early and hit the Swiss border around morning tea time.
Lake at St Moritz
St Moritz lovely and unexpectedly quiet. We parked on the outskirts and walked around the lake to the town. Went up in the cable car but it’s basically for ski field access and not a patch on Innsbruck. although still great views.

Booked next stop on Lake Como a lovely spot near Lenno. The drive there took us high up into the mountains and down these amazing hairpins and then along the lake front through a series of beautiful villages and towns. Not many still shots of that, but took lots of video so may get some stills from those and post later.
Stunning apartment high above the town with great views of the lake. Nice and warm here, very different to the high mountain places.

Next day we had a leisurely start as we had a noon checkout. Weather beautifully mild even before sunrise. We walked back down to Lenno and had breakfast on the lakefront and then walked around the lake a little.

Next stop was planned to be Lake Garda, largest lake in Italy. We got a bit caught up in the Milan metropolis but eventually cleared that and had the most amazing scenic ride along the shores of the lake to Riva del Garda where we stop for a wander around.
Pescate on the way to Lake Garda
The drive back through the mountains is really spectacular and it’s Autostrada most of the way. The traffic is thinning out into the evening so that makes it easier. We get off the Autostrada as night is falling and the last hour to La Villa we take slowly in the dark.
